ECA shares its building and some staff with the Almaden
Valley United Church of Christ (AVUCC).
We call this partnership Joint Venture (JV). The
JV Board meets on the first Tuesday of each month
with both pastors and six representatives from each
church. It is the legal entity for corporate
decisions regarding the building, expansion, office
and logistical budgeting.
Under Joint Venture we share our Youth Director, Parish
Administrator, Music Director, janitorial service and care
of the building and grounds. Each church contributes
equally to the JV budget.
Joint Venture Responsibilities
SECURITY
Star Alarm System Door Keys, Motion Sensors For Lights At Fellowship Hall Door,
Narthex Door and In Both Bathrooms. Elevator Maintenance
& Repair.
LIGHTING
Replacement of Light Bulbs, Fluorescent and Incandescent. In Sanctuary,
Fellowship Halls, offices and alt other Places in Church, Outside:
Door Lights and Parking Lot Lights On Top of Church.
KITCHEN
Equipment Maintenance, Large and Small. Fan Motors, Cupboard Drawer and Faucet
Maintenance. Monitor Linens, Utensils, Glassware, Paperware Etc.
INSIDE MECHANICAL
Cleaning or Painting Walls. Ceiling: Acoustical Tile Replacement.
Floors: Surface Maintenance (Linoleum, Carpet, Tile Etc.) Maintenance:
Doors, Jams and Sliding Glass Doors Cupboard Doors Inside Furniture
Maintenance.
HVAC
Maintenance of Heaters, Air Conditioners, Thermostats, Filters, Dueling. Fans
In Bathrooms. Other Church Functions: Electrical System, Plumbing, Floor Settling
(Shim), Termite Control.
ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT
Maintenance/Replace Etc. Computers, VCRs, TVs, Copiers and Other
Office Equipment. Organ, Pianos - Maintenance and Tuning.
OUTSIDE BUILDING
Wood Trim, Decks, Stucco Outbuilding Painting, Window and Screen Maintenance.
Gutter Repair and Cleaning, Tot Lot Fence Repair. Roof Maintenance.
GARDEN
All Lawns, Shrubs, Trees and Roses: Pruning, Cutting, Trimming, Mowing,
Fertilizing, Watering and Spray Weeds. Walks and Parking: Maintenance
of Asphalt and Rock Parking Areas and of Paved Walks and Curbing.
OUTSIDE MAINTENANCE
Watering Systems, Mowers Blowers, Trimmers Maintenance, Watering System Timer
For Rose Garden.
FINANCE / CONTRACTS / RECORDS
Review/monitor contracts with outside groups that use the church.
Ensure that the JV Records are kept and can be easily located.
Work on documenting standard procedures. Review service contracts
and insurance.
