ECA Camping Directions

From San Jose head south to Carmel (via Hwy 101 or Hwy 17).

When you get to Carmel, look for the main stoplight at the intersection of Hwy 1 and Ocean Road.  The campgrounds are 24.5 miles south of the Ocean Rd. stoplight on Hwy. 1. Don't take Ocean Road!  We are on the west side of Hwy 1 (your right), located between Pfeiffer and Molera State Parks.

Look for Big Sur Campgrounds and Santa Lucia Chapel signs and take a right towards the Big Sur Health Center. If you reach the Riverside Campground and the Chevron Station, turn around, you have gone too far!
