Outreach Programs
Peter Nyok, is
one of the
Lost Boys of Sudan living in San Jose, CA. Beginning
in 2004 and as recent as April 2009, Peter rescued orphans and “at risk”
children living in “war torn” villages in southern Sudan. Today, 56
Sudanese children are living safely in Kenya, where they have the
opportunity to attend school. Peter works two jobs to support these
orphans and seeks sponsors to assist with school tuition, uniforms and
school supplies. Our goal is to pair donors with Peter’s 56 refugee Sudanese
children living in Kenya. For more information please go to

Aluminum Can Drive - these drives
take place quarterly. The proceeds benefit Habitat for Humanity.
Montgomery
Meals - a self supporting program led by Amy Griffith
which serves food to the homeless. Complete meals are prepared and
delivered every other Friday. Our team is made up ECA members and other
compassionate people from throughout our local community.
Santa Maria Urban Mission - an
outreach ministry of the Episcopal Diocese of El Camino Real. Founded in
1983, this mission provides many services to the residents of San Jose’s inner
city.
St. Mary and All Souls - our Sister Church in
Coldstream, Scotland.
Turkey Drive - a special
way ECA has of showing their thanks during the Thursday and Friday of
Thanksgiving. We cook and freeze turkeys which are then used for feeding
homeless every other week (see Montgomery Meals above).
UTO — the United Thank Offering is an
Episcopal ministry that gives men, women and children an opportunity to give
daily thanks using the "Blue Box". The coins that go into each box
eventually add up to more that $2.5 million when all the boxes are totaled.
The money is used to provide grants for mission and ministry. Learn more
about this wonderful ministry and what we've been able to do right here in our
own diocese.
