Vestry Meeting
August 27,

Opening Prayer Bev Deveaux
Visitors Katie McCormick and Ellen Lukanc
discussed/defined the role of the Reception Committee and clarified
the specific responsibilities/events of the Committee. Guidelines
were agreed on.
Finance Approval of Financial Report: Len Whitlock The ECA
Vestry reviewed and approved the financial report. We are in
"good shape" and have a very small shortfall.
Approval of Minutes Recommendation: Approval of Vestry
minutes for August 13, 2002; Elizabeth made a motion to approve
minutes as amended. Motion 2nd by Bev and were approved. Ken
motioned the corrected Vestry minutes of July 23rd be approved. The
motion 2nd by Ann and the motion was passed.
Junior Warden's Report Dave Thomas is reviewing
administrative candidates. He will share candidates with UCC. Allan
reported the inside of the rectory refurbishing plan is complete.
Committees Report Allan Jones distributed a summary of the
following committees; Rectory, Joint Venture, Management Team, Long
Range Plan, Communication Committee. See attached.
Senior Warden Bev distributed the letter of resignation of
Peter Jacobs and recommended a replacement be appointed.
New Business Youth Director of High School; in process
Approval of Agreement & Release From Liability Form: (for ECA
directory photos) Len made a motion to approve the form, Belinda 2nd
and all approved. The form will be published in the SHAPE along with
the photo times (9:00-1:00 October 12th, 13th and 20th after the
11:00 service.
Stephen's Institution: discussed will include Stephen's
direction.
Administrator position: Stephen and Juliane will interview
candidates.
Other Items for Discussion
Len reviewed the costs of the rectory refurbishing. The costs
savings is tremendous due to our many volunteers giving their time
and talent. This will be submitted to the SHAPE for publication. Ken
proposed we ask Stephen to consider having an open house. All
agreed.
Bev will contact the Bishop to ask him how to ratify the Bylaws.
The Vestry will present John Buenz with flowers and a gift
certificate for his assistance, guidance and input while ECA was in
the process of finding a rector.
Next Vestry Meeting: Tuesday, September 10, 7:00 pm at ECA.
