New Business

Welcome new vestry members.
Susie welcomed all new vestry members, and thanked all for their commitment to the vestry: Steve Wing, Ron Howie, Susanne Moore, Tim Miller, Jim McPherson. Susie herself is also new to the vestry.

We thanked all outgoing vestry members: Ellen Lukanc, Debbie Bishop, Terry Root, Pat Rimroth, and Jon Mills, some of whom were present at this meeting. Some parting comments:

  • It was a great learning experience being on the vestry.
  • The retreat will be a wonderful experience. Focus more on the spiritual aspects, less on the financials. Think about what community we want to develop as this church.
  • The auction (of end 2004) was a major energy drain for the vestry, and it took the vestry some time to recover from it.
  • The Spring Fling was a great initiative, and will set the right tone for the future.

Next vestry meeting will be held Jan 5th at 7 pm.

Committee Reports

Finance (Hans): 2006 pledges ramping up slowly. This is likely due to the late start of the pledge drive.

Communication (Kim): we tried to get the Shape out in a timely manner, using 1st class mail. But we learned that not all got delivered timely. We've actually better experience using bulk mail.

Stephen: hands out "Vestry Papers" for Nov/Dec, a publication from the diocese.

Senior warden (Jon)
Stephen's review. The Spring Fling has provided valuable feedback data. Jon has drafted additional comments.
Rector Support Group: Stephen thanks all the members of this group for their support, and requests that this group continues in the future. Some new members will be needed to replace parting members.

Other business
Tim: new sign. We need to check if we are allowed by city code to have an internally lighted sign.

Closing prayer
Stephen closed the meeting at 8:07 pm with prayer.

Respectfully submitted, Hans
