Vestry Meeting

Search Committee: Dave Byers, Ed Mueller, Doug Dunham, Winnie Jackman,
Robin Root.
Update From Search Committee
Dave Byers reviewed the complex process of searching for a rector and
included the roadblocks they have encountered. The ECA profile project has
been completed and our profile has been sent for distribution to the church
Diocesan office. As of this date, 30 + rector profiles have been received.
These include resumes forwarded to the search committee directly from the
Bishop. The Search Committee has reviewed the rector profiles and has chosen
15 for further review.
Allan Jones, on behalf of the Vestry (agreed to at the Vestry meeting on
Feb 12), requested that a time line with estimated goal dates be given to the
vestry to be used as a tool to "stay in the loop" and in the
learning process. The Search Committee agreed to provide a timeline.
Beverly Deveaux distributed a list naming the participants of each of the
ECA 2002 Vestry Team. A copy of the teams was given to the Vestry and Search
Committee. The Vestry Communication Team will contact Dave Byers on Monday,
February 25, to discuss a process to keep the Vestry updated on the Search
Committee's status of finding a rector.
Patty Fryer shared her learning experience from the Vestry Training Day
held in Salinas of "how to be proactive in a rector search."
The Vestry is responsible for forming a contingency plan if the rector
position has not been filled by Nolan's departure date.
The Search Committee faithfully keeps the congregation informed/updated on
the search for a new rector by submitting a monthly article to the
"SEARCH", committee members are available for 1:1 discussions,
questions, phone calls and emails from the congregation.
Dave Byers communicates/updates Senior Warden, Bev Deveaux on a regular
basis.
