The focus now will be to build up the Shadiner Fund. Dave made a motion to approve the Investment Committee Report. The motion passed and is approved.

New Business

The Vestry reviewed a list of interviewing questions to be asked the rector candidates. Thirteen questions will be asked. Each Vestry member will ask a question until they are completed. A copy will be sent to each vestry member.

To facilitate the sharing of information, the vestry will ask each candidate, in advance, to prepare an informal presentation of approximately 30 minutes. The presentation will be part of the interview. Recommended topics for discussion are:

1. Christian Education (e.g., program experience and involvement; activities that are important to you)

2. Finance/Misc. (e.g., approach to stewardship; motivating congregational involvement in programs and activities)

3. Leadership/Administration (e.g., management and leadership style; conflict resolution skills; prior joint venture experience)

4. Pastoral Care (e.g., how you provide pastoral care to members at significant points in their lives)

5. Personal (e.g., why you're interested in ECA; your vision for ECA's growth and its relationship to your personal growth; your description of faith; your position on homosexuality in the Episcopal church; your source of spiritual guidance)

6. Worship (e.g., process for your weekly planning of worship; division of responsibilities and duties; thoughts on music styles in worship; basis of sermons)

7. Youth Ministry (e.g., inclusion and inspiration of youth within the church).

A packet of information to include copies of the SHAPE, church bulletins, an itinerary, and a letter of welcome will be sent to each candidate.

The Vestry discussed and agreed upon the necessity of having Penny Sabin, Education Director, and Margaret Kvamme, Music Director, having the opportunity to ask related departmental questions to each candidate. Len made a motion they be invited to attend the "social" portion of the candidate visit. The motion was passed.

Bev will contact Margaret and Penny to extend the invitation and discuss the guidelines of the evening.
