Minutes Approval
The April 10, 2001 vestry meeting minutes were read. Approval is pending
corrections.
Junior Warden’s Report / Joint Venture Churches Report
1. A janitor is needed to replace Bill McDonald by September 1st.
2. The JV charter is to be revised. The JV committee needs two people
from ECA to serve on a committee to draft the revision. No timeline has
been given for this task. The last significant modification to the charter
was before Nolan began serving as rector.
3. Building Committee briefed the vestry on ongoing efforts to expand
classroom space. The committee has met with several architects and is
getting information from the city. Details are available in separate
building committee minutes. You may call Russ Petruzzelli for copies of
the building committee minutes.
F.I.S.H. Reports
Finance
1. Approval of Financial Report:
The ECA vestry reviewed and unanimously approved the financial report. No
problems noted.
2. Investment Committee Report:
The Shaddinger Fund is being managed well considering the current
downturn in economic conditions. There was a small net gain for the
preceding month. (Educational note to all: This committee report is not
voted on, only accepted.)
Illumined:
A joint service is planned for June 10th with a lunch following.
As part of outreach, members of the committee cooked meals for the Church of
the Transfiguration.
Shine: The committee continues to seek suggestions from the
congregation on fellowship activities they would like in the coming year.
House: Susie and Jerry Ferguson are working a plan to renovate the
rectory yard.
Rector’s Remarks:
Nolan led a discussion and presentation on the process that will be
required to recruit, screen and select a new rector. It was recognized by the
vestry that not insignificant costs will be involved including things like
travel and printing costs.
New Business:
3. The vestry plans to meet throughout the summer. And the next Vestry
meeting will be held June 12th, 7:30 pm, at the rectory.
