familyA Warm Welcome to You!

We are very happy you’ve found us here! Take a look around our website and then come visit us and let us welcome you to our growing church family. We are excited to get to know you!

Who We Are

At ECA you will meet people of all ages and backgrounds who share a common desire to seek God, love one another and serve our community.

We worship together on Sundays and gather throughout the year for shared meals, camping trips, knitting clubs and many other fellowship activities. We sing in a choir, strengthen one another in faith and reach out to others here in the Almaden Valley. We help our kids grow up nurtured by love and strong values.

All are welcome to worship and serve with us no matter their faith background. Come celebrate God’s love with us!

Our Services

We have two services on Sunday mornings at 7:30 AM and 10:45 AM Both services feature communion, teaching, and scripture readings, which you can find on the Lectionary Page. Sunday sermons are posted on our website weekly.

Our 7:30 AM Sunday service is often described as “short and sweet.” It’s for early risers who prefer a simple worship experience with communion and no music. A warm and welcoming coffee hour follows.

Our 10:45 AM Sunday service is especially family friendly. Worship Boxes are provided for children ages 1½ to 9 years. Lectionary activity papers are also provided that coincide with the Sunday’s scripture readings for children 7 to 12 years. Children and youth are often involved in our worship service. A professionally staffed nursery is available for babies and preschool-age kids. Visitors of all ages and faith backgrounds are welcome to take communion. Come to our fellowship hall after the service for coffee, treats and a warm welcome. We’re an outgoing congregation and we love getting to know new people.

What Is an Episcopal Church?

If this is your first time at an Episcopal service, don’t be shy! Half of our congregation was raised non-Episcopalian. We’re pretty informal here and we go out of our way to make newcomers feel at home. Enjoy our beautiful music, engaging teaching and the new friends you will make in our welcoming and diverse congregation.

servicesECA is an Episcopal Church, which means our faith and worship are rooted in the Anglican tradition of the Church of England. Anglicans are Protestant Christians who worship in a liturgical style with weekly Holy Communion. ECA is a member of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America, which is part of the Anglican Communion, a group of more than 85 million Christians in over 160 countries worldwide.

ECA shares facilities with the Congregational Church of Almaden Valley, United Church of Christ (CCAV) and the Korean Methodist Church.

What Do Episcopalians Believe?

We are followers of Jesus Christ, our Lord, and we believe in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  To read more, see I-Am-Episcopalian.

How to Find Us

The Episcopal Church in Almaden is located at 6581 Camden Avenue, San Jose. It is a half mile east of Almaden Expressway in south San Jose.

On Your First Visit

At ECA we worship in the round, meaning seats in the sanctuary are arranged so that everyone faces the altar in the center. To get to the sanctuary, park in our parking lot and look for the glass doors on the east side of the church (left-hand side as you drive or walk in from the street). The sanctuary is up a short staircase from the ground-floor foyer. There is an elevator for those who need it, and church restrooms are wheelchair-accessible. Everything you need for worship is provided in a leaflet handed out as you enter. Come as you are and worship God with us.
